Reshma playing Sitar

I was born into a family of musicians in Allahabad in Northern India. I was six years old when I began my life long musical journey with the Sitar. My uncle, Prof. Satish Chandra, an artist from Pt. Ravi Shankar's tradition, was my instructor.

I gave my first public performance at the age of 8. I was broadcasting on the radio before then. Today I am considered an "A" grade artist. I have earned a Mater's degree in music and a number of prestigious awards. I have enjoyed the honor of highlighting many concert performances all over India, and many other countries, including Great Britain, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Cyprus, Slovenia, Israel and the United States of America.

My Papa he is not only a very talented performing artist on Tabla, he is also a well known professor of classical Indian music and has published 10 books on the subject of tabla and percussion instruments which are used in all the public and private schools, colleges and universities throughout India today.

His books are being offered for sale in Hindi. They include such titles as:
  • Taal Parichay - (Introducing Taal) Part 1
  • Taal Parichay - (Introducing Taal) Part 2
  • Taal Parichay - (Introducing Taal) Part 3
  • Taal Prabhakar Prashnotri - (Graduates Questions & Answers about Taal)
